#QualityofLife 4: WDSD16

During the run-up to Workd Down’s Syndrome Day, we are sharing photos that say something about what quality of life means to us.
I had a post planned for today, but then Freddie came home from school waving this certificate. He was so happy. He loves it when he gets a ‘cheivement’ as he calls it; his little face glows with pride. If having things that make you happy indicates ‘quality of life’, then for Freddie certificates like this represent that – having the opportunity to achieve, and to have your achievements recognised is an important contributory factor in perceptions of wellbeing and life satisfaction.

And for us as parents seeing our child progress brings us a great deal of joy.
